COVID-19 SECURE MEASURES

These are the COVID-Secure measures GreenRoomCollective are putting in place to keep our leaders, students and families safe:

COVID-19 risk assessment. We have completed an extensive risk-assessment and have shared it with our assistant leaders.

Cleaning & Hygiene. Hand sanitiser (organic, vegan and refillable - so we can look after our planet at the same time as ourselves!) will be available to all GRC staff and students upon entering and exiting a class. We will be cleaning as necessary between each class. Antibacterial wipes (100% biodegradable in-keeping with our eco pledge) will be available to students in the event that they should be required to clean down any surface or item they have used during a class. Leaders will also be cleaning any high touch point areas/ surfaces.

Face coverings. Given the nature of our activities, having outdoors drop-off and pick-ups and the change in government guidance, face coverings upon arrival and departure are now optional. Please be respectful of individual choice, and mindful of social distancing at busy times. As previously, staff and students will not be required to wear face coverings during class, due to exemptions stated in government guidance:

  • children under the age of 11 (Public Health England does not recommend face coverings for children under the age of 3 for health and safety reasons)

  • to avoid harm or injury, or the risk of harm or injury, to yourself or others ‒ including if it would negatively impact on your ability to exercise or participate in a strenuous activity

  • if you are undertaking exercise or an activity and it would negatively impact your ability to do so

Social distancing. We will continue to keep well spaced out throughout the majority of each class, and will remain mindful and respectful of each other's personal space. Please reflect this when waiting outside the hall before and after your/ your child's class. We will continue to use different doors for entering and exiting the halls. We will come to the door to welcome the students in, and return them to you one by one from the door at the end of their class.

Increased ventilation. Doors and windows will be open throughout classes where possible and safe, to increase ventilation.

Rapid Testing. Your class teacher will be taking a Lateral Flow Device COVID-19 test twice a week. Find out more about LFD tests available for free.

Supporting NHS & PHE. We will continue to follow advice from Public Health England and the NHS on testing, self-isolating and managing confirmed cases. Please tell us if a student receives a positive COVID-19 PCR test.

DO NOT ATTENDyour GRC activity if

Should your child begin to display COVID-19 symptoms during their GRC activity they will need to return home. Please be prepared to collect them immediately.

BEFORE COMING TO CLASS:

  • PUNCTUALITY.

    • Punctuality is essential. Please arrive five minutes prior to the start of your activity and be ready to collect your child five minutes before the end of their activity. This is essential to maintaining our COVID-secure measures. Late collection of your child will delay the start of the next class!

  • WATER & Jumper

    • Please bring to class your own, named water bottle (and a jumper, as the weather gets colder and we continue to ventilate with open windows/doors). This is all that is permitted, with the exception of any necessary medicines, a mobile phone where it is essential, coats where it is not possible for it to be left with a parent/carer. Where these additional items are required at a GRC activity, please ensure they are in a bag.

  • BATHROOM BREAK.

    • Please ensure that your child has been to the toilet as soon as is possible prior to arriving at their activity. This will help to reduce movement within the venue.

  • LOST PROPERTY.

    • Please ensure that your child has everything with them when they depart their activity. Left items cannot be placed in lost property. Therefore, any item left at the hall will be immediately removed and disposed of.

NEED TO CHAT?

As ever, we are happy to talk with you should you have any urgent questions or information you wish to provide us with at drop off or pick up. At drop off, please wait for all of the present students to have entered the hall first. At pick up, please wait until you have reached the front of the line. Given the circumstances, it would be most helpful if you could email or phone instead where possible.

Please prepare them in advance for joining in their class without you. You are welcome to wait outside, nearby for the duration. We will do everything to reassure them and ensure they have an enjoyable class. If you have any questions or wish to talk to me in advance please don’t hesitate to call - 07743 111 344.
